BRISBANE BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY REFERRAL PROGRAM WHAT IS IT? There’s nothing better than serving our clients well and giving them images they adore. I wanted to share a few things with you all from September last year about the Australian Professional Photography Awards and some media news I was apart of once I arrived home from Melbourne. In September I was lucky to be able to go and stay in Melbourne for 5 days to attend the countrys biggest Professional Photography Awards that are held each year. These events are open to enter from Australia and International world famous photographers alike. So when entering these awards it is extremely nerve wracking to say the least when you will be judged up against all
Earlier this year, I was personally invited to help kick off and contribute to an AIPP Special Interest Group (SIG) focused on Birth Photography in Australia. The group is flourishing as passionate birth photographers around Australia join the AIPP’s goal to help promote standards of professionalism for this genre. There is a wealth of experience, backgrounds and insight within the group and with the guidance of the AIPP’s Executive Officer, we are able to delve right into the important issues and achieve beneficial outcomes.
So, you’re interested in having a birth photographer document the arrival of your little one. I get many enquiries into my services, but the line of questioning I’m asked straight up is “How much do you charge?”, followed by “Are you available in ….?”.
To have the honour to be in the private birthing space of a labouring mother to be is just incredible! To be the one that is there to capture every moment throughout the labour through to earthside is just so adrenaline pumping for myself to be apart of. To see a mum to be so incredibly strong and driven to birth her baby naturally is so rewarding. This mum of 4 had an extremely long labour of 39+ hours for her 4th bub Tanveer.
